How to Open an Abeg Account
Follow the steps below to sign up for the Abeg app.

- Download the Abeg mobile app and sign up. It is available for both Android and iOS devices.
- Launch the app and select “Create an account.”
- Input your full name, phone number, email address, and create a login password.
- Enter the one-time password (OTP) sent to your phone.
- Enter your BVN to verify it. A verification code will be sent to the phone number registered on your BVN, enter the code and complete the registration.
- It’s also a good idea to make your Abeg Tag. If someone wants to send you money, your Abeg Tag is unique and useful.
After you’ve downloaded and signed up for the Abeg app, you may begin sending and receiving money using the app.
How to Send and Request Money on Abeg

When you open the Abeg app, you’ll see an interface where you can request and transfer money to other Abeg users right away. So, for example, if you want to ask a friend with an Abeg tag for money, here’s how you should go about it:
- Tap the ‘Request Money’ button
- Then, type in the amount (in Naira) you want to request from that friend. You’ll also need to type in what the money is for.
- Next, click Request
- You will then need to select a friend you wish to request money from, from your contact list.
- Then, click the Request button.
It’s important to note that the individual from whom you’re seeking money has the choice of accepting or declining your request. If they decline, you’ll be notified.
How to Transfer Money on Abeg
On the Abeg app, you have two options for sending money: you may send money to another Abeg user’s wallet or straight to their bank account.
To send money to another Abeg user’s wallet.
- Tap Abeg transfer from the main interface
- Then, type in the amount (in Naira) you want to send to a friend. You’ll also need to type in what the money is for.
- Enter the Abeg tag of the person you wish to send money to. Or you can search your phone contact on Abeg.
- Then, click ‘Send to Abeg User’. Sending money on Abeg app to other Abeg users is totally free. You can also choose to send money anonymously.

To transfer directly to a bank account:
- Tap ‘Bank Transfer’ from the main interface
- Then, type in the amount (in Naira) you want to send to a friend. You’ll also need to type in what the money is for.
- Enter the account details of the user then, click ‘Send to Bank’.

How to Fund and Withdraw from Your Abeg Wallet
How to Fund Your Abeg Wallet:
- Tap the ‘Top up Wallet’ on the dashboard or click on the profile icon to the bottom-right corner of your phone and select ‘Add Money’.
- A bank account number assigned to your Abeg account will pop up. You can then fund your Abeg wallet by paying into that account.
How to Withdraw Money from Your Abeg Wallet
- From your profile page, tap your wallet balance
- Select Withdraw from the pop-up
Finally, if you haven’t connected your bank account yet, you’ll need to open a new bank account in order to make withdrawals. Withdrawing money from your Abeg account also incurs a ₦10 fee.
