Airtel is the second most popular mobile network service provider in Uganda following MTN. It is an Indian multinational telecommunications services company with its headquarters in India. Airtel is operating in 18 countries across South Asia and Africa, and also the Channel Islands. Airtel Uganda is a subsidiary of Airtel Africa and helps keep your money on your phone with Airtel money services. You can also send this money to other people on other networks like MTN.
This article explains how to send airtel money to any other network in Uganda.
- Step 1: Dial *185#
- Step 2: Select option 1 “Send Money”
- Step 3: Choose other network options from the options that are displayed. (2) MTN number | (3) UTL Number | (4) International Transfer
- Step 4: Enter the mobile number you want to send money to
- Step 5: Enter the amount you want to send
- Step 6: Enter a reference. A reference is a reason why you are sending the money. Maybe it’s someone’s birthday and you are sending them some money. The reference you could put in that situation is “Happy Birthday”.
- Step 7: A message indicating the choices you had made like the amount of money you input is shown. The names of the person you are about to send to are shown, the reference and the charges for sending the money. Confirm all these details are right before you input your Mobile Money Pin.
- Step 8: Check your messages inbox for a message indicating the person you have just sent the money to and your new Airtel money balance after the deduction. Or you could just call them and ask if they have received the money you have just sent them.
NOTE: Sending money from Airtel to other networks costs more compared to sending money from airtel to airtel in terms of the amount charged via sending. Kindly keep that in mind while sending.
