Reminding yourself to reach out to friends and family might turn out to be a failed chore. However, choosing to schedule messages will save you from embarrassment. With Google Messages, scheduling your message is pretty simple and easy to achieve. Here is how you can schedule Google messages.

Step 1: Enable the Google Chat Feature on your Device

For the scheduling feature to work, the recipient must have Google Messages and should enable the Chat feature. If the input field shows Chat rather than Text then you will be good to go. However, if the input is still showing Text, here is how you can change it to Chat;

  1. Launch the Messages app on your device.
  2. Tap the three vertical dots at the top right corner of your screen to view More options.
  3. Select the Settings option and then select General.
  4. Click on Chat features.
  5. Toggle “Enable chat features” on.

Step 2: Schedule the Message.

1. Open the Messages app.

2. Tap on “Start Chat“.

3. Enter the recipient/recipients.

4. Type the message that you want to schedule.

5. Press down and hold the send message arrow.

6. Tap Scheduled Send.

7. You can schedule later that day, later tonight, tomorrow or you can choose to customize the time and date. Click pick date and time. Choose the date then click Next. Also, select the time and click Next. Click Save.

8. Tap the Send button.

9. The scheduled message will appear in italics

10. To make changes to your scheduled text, tap on the clock icon next to the scheduled text.

  • Click Update Message to edit the Message.
  • Tap Send Now to defy schedule.
  • Click Delete Message if you want to delete the message.

Note: To send scheduled messages, keep on and connect to WIFI or data.
