On your iPhone, iPad, and MacBook, you can record a video of what is happening on your screen without installing an extra app. All Apple devices have an installed Screen Recording feature. The process of recording your screen on an iPhone, iPad, or MacBook is extremely simple as explained in a step-by-step guide below;

How to Record Screen on iPhone or iPad

Step 1: Add the Screen Record button to the Control Center. To do so, go to Settings, select Control Center, then tap the Add button next to Screen Recording.

Step 2: When you are ready to screen record, open the control center on your iPhone or Ipad.

Step 3: Touch and hold the gray Record button, then tap Microphone.

Step 4: Tap Start Recording, then wait for the three-second countdown. 

Step 5: To stop recording, open Control Center, then tap the red Record button. Or tap the red status bar at the top of your screen and tap Stop.

Step 6: Go to the Photos app and select your screen recording.

How to Record Screen on MacBook

Step 1: From the Applications folder, open the QuickTime player.

Step 2: Choose File.

Step 3: From the menu bar, select Screen Recording.

Step 4: You will then see either the onscreen controls described above or the screen recording window described below.

Step 5: Before starting your recording, you can click the arrow next to the Record button to change the recording settings;

  • To record your voice or other audio with the screen recording, choose a microphone. To monitor that audio during recording, adjust the volume slider. If you get audio feedback, lower the volume or use headphones with a microphone.
  • To show a black circle around your pointer when you click, choose Show Mouse Clicks in Recording.

Step 6: To start recording, click the Record button and then take one of these actions:

  • Click anywhere on the screen to begin recording the entire screen.
  • Or drag to select an area to record, then click Start Recording within that area.

Step 7: To stop recording, click the Stop button in the menu bar, or press Command-Control-Esc (Escape).

Step 8: After you stop recording, QuickTime Player automatically opens the recording.
