NSSF helps individuals plan for their futures after retirement by making monthly savings. The ways in which these individuals make their contributions are different. Some people use M-Pesa to make their contributions to their NSSF accounts. Individuals are required to make contributions until they retire.

After retirement, the individual can claim the money he or she had saved. To those who are deceased, the benefits go to their family members or beneficiaries. The law requires all employers to register and submit their employee’s NSSF contributions every month. It’s mandatory for all employers in Kenya. M-Pesa is the easiest way to make those contributions and it also happens to be the most common way since most individuals use it.

Here’s How to Pay NSSF via M-PESA

1. Go to M-Pesa

2. Select the Lipa na M-Pesa option

3. Select Pay bill

4. Enter 333300 as the pay bill or business number

5. Enter the account number as your NSSF number

6. Enter the amount you wish to pay (NOTE: The amount should be between ksh200 and ksh70000)

7. Enter your M-Pesa PIN

8. Check the details to confirm and press OK

9. Await a confirmation message showing that the money has been sent to your NSSF account

If you want to pay NSSF via M-Pesa, this should be deducted and submitted in full by the 15th of every month. However, late payment of the monthly contributions will attract a 5% penalty of the total contributions for each month or part of the month the employer or employee has failed to pay their contribution.
