If you are working between a number of websites or you are performing lots of research on your web browser, it is easier to open and browse through multiple tabs rather than going back and forth between web pages.
By default settings, Google will load a search result link upon the search result page. This indicates that if the user wants to check out the other links provided on the search result page, they will need to tap the back arrow or the front arrow in the toolbar consequently. Now such alterations are hectic, so you might decide to open every link in a new tab by default so you can compare and properly align information. Here is how;
Method 1: Open in New Tab Once
This method will enable you to open a selected search result in the new tab.
1. Launch the Google Chrome browser.
2. Enter your query in the search bar and click the search button.
3. A page showing the search results will appear, right-click on your preferred result then select “open the link in the new tab.”
4. The link will open in the new tab.
Method 2: Set by Default
With this method, all clicked-on search results will open in a new tab by default.
1. Head over to Google.com and sign in to your account.
2. Tap on the “Settings” menu at the right bottom corner of the screen.
3. Select “Search Settings” from the new menu pop-up.
4. Under the “Where results Open” option, check a box labeled “Open each selected result in a new browser window.”
5. Scroll down and select the “Save” button.
6. Google.com will update you that your preferences have been saved, click “OK” to finalize the process. Now go ahead and tap on any search results that you prefer, and you will notice that you will be referred to a new tab.
