Netflix remembers all movies and series that you have watched on the streaming platform. There are some great reasons for doing this by checking your watch history, you can quickly find and rewatch or share titles you recently viewed. Netflix also uses this history to make better recommendations for new movies or shows you might want to see. But you also have complete control over this feature. You can choose to download titles or hide Netflix titles from your viewing history.
What Happens When you Hide Titles from your Viewing History?
- Hidding Titles from your viewing History is similar to deletion.
- All Hidden titles will disappear on Netflix as a TV show or movie you’ve watched.
- Hidden titles will not be used to make recommendations to you unless you watch them again.
- They’ll be removed from the Continue Watching row.
- Titles viewed from the Children’s profiles can not be hidden.
How to Hide Netflix Titles from your Viewing History
Step 1: Launch your preferred web browser and go to Netflix.com.
Step 2: Sign in to your Netflix account.
Step 3: Upon successful login, select your Netflix profile.
Step 4: Tap on the drop-down icon next to the profile icon in the upper right corner.
Step 5: From the popup menu, select “Account.”
Step 6: Scroll down to “Profile & Parental Controls.”
Step 7: Under Profile & Parental Controls select Netflix profile.
Step 8: From the menu list, click on “Viewing Activity.” On the next page, you will be able to view all titles that you have watched on Netflix.
Step 9: On the Activity page, click the hide icon next to the episode or title you want to hide. If you hide an episode, you’ll see the option to hide the entire series. If you want to hide all of your viewing history, select the Hide all option at the bottom of the page and confirm.
Note: It can take up to 24 hours for a hidden title to be removed from all your devices. Titles can’t be hidden if the Activity page is reached from a Netflix Kids profile.
