Method 1: How to Enable Siri to Announce Caller on your iPhone or iPad

This method will work for you if your iPhone or iPad is running on IOS 14.5 or later and you are wearing a supported device. When someone calls you, Siri will announce the call through headphones or a car connected to Bluetooth. Hereafter you can answer the call with Yes if you want to answer the call or say “NO” if you want to decline the call.

Step 1: Go to the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 2: Scroll down to and select “Siri and Search.” On this menu, allow Siri to function when your phone is locked.

How Does This Feature Work

Once you set up the Announce call feature on your device, this is what you should expect.

  • The phone will ring as usual with the set ringtone however Siri will announce the details of the call. If the caller is saved in your contacts, Siri will mention the name and if the number is unsaved, Siri will say it’s an unknown number.
  • If your phone is set on silent, this feature will not function.
