Each Showmax account is eligible for creating multiple profiles which can be segmented into adult profiles, teen profiles, and kids profiles. All listed categories are presented in the appropriation of ratings. The Kids profile will access only content rated for a 12-year-old and below then the Teen profiles are limited to showing content rated for a 17-year-old and below and Adult profiles have unrestricted access to all content on Showmax. How to Create Showmax Profiles for Different Users & Set Parental Control PIN
Step 1: Go to Showmax.com on your preferred browser and sign in to your Showmax account with your email address and password.
Step 2: If the enter the correct details, you will be direct to the profiles page. Click on the crosshair icon to Add New Profiles.
Step 3: Enter the preferred name for the profile that you are creating.
Step 4: On the same page, you get to choose the profile type. The available options are Kids, Teens, or Adults.
- The Kids profile will access only content rated for a 12-year-old and below.
- Teen profiles are limited to showing content rated for a 17-year-old and below.
- Adult profiles are unrestricted where all content is available.
Step 5: Click “SAVE” to save profile settings. And just like that, you will have created a Showmax profile. On the next page, you will be presented with an option to set Parent Control settings. If you are not interested, click “Not Now, Thanks.” However, if you are interested in setting Parental Control guidelines or setting a 4-digit pin for your profile, follow through to step 6.
Step 6: Tap “Set Parental control” to create a global PIN that will restrict kids & teens from watching inappropriate content. Any content rated at or above your restriction will require the PIN to watch.
Step 7: You will be prompted to enter your password.
Step 8: On the Parental Control page, you will be prompted to set viewing restrictions.
- If you tap 7+, the PIN will be required for content rated 7 & above.
- If you tap 13+, the PIN will be required for content rated 13 & above.
- If you tap 16+, the PIN will be required for content rated 16 & above.
- If you tap OFF, you will have disabled viewing restrictions.
Step 9: Once you have selected the viewing restriction, you will be prompted to enter 4 digit pin. Key in the four-digit pin and tap “SET PIN CODE.” Congrats!! You have finally set a PIN for your profile. Now every time unauthorized personnel selects content that requires viewing restriction, they will need to enter a 4-digit PIN to proceed with watching content.
