What is Google Earth?
Google Earth is a computer program that renders a 3D representation of Earth based mainly on satellite imagery.
This program maps the Earth by superimposing satellite images. Aerial photography. And GIS data onto a 3D globe. Enabling users to view cities and landscapes from various angles.
Users then can search the globe by entering addresses and coordinates, or by using a keyboard or mouse. The program can also be downloaded on a smartphone or tablet, using a touch screen or stylus to navigate.
How to create a satellite view of your house using Google Earth
In order to get a satellite view of your house:
a) Firstly, Open the Google Earth app in your web browser or phone’s applications. Or install it from the Google Play Store onto your Android phone. It will take a minute or two to fully load.
b) Secondly, use the search field in the top left to enter your street address. Or the name of the place you are in.
c) Thirdly, you will see your address in the search results. Click it to fly down to that location.
d) Fourthly, zoom in closer to get a detailed overhead satellite view of your home.
e) After that, you can drag the man icon to the street to get down to the ground view.
f) Then, beyond address search, Google Earth lets you find any location on Earth by business name, GPS coordinates, and even keywords.
You might ask yourself what the point is behind Google Earth. After all, there is Google Maps. Google Earth lets you see an actual place in real-time.
