Luckily, Google Drive allows you to create folders for your files for better organization and management. A Folder helps you organize different files together so you can simply identify them when you need them. Having a number of google docs dispersed will make your page messy. However, creating a folder in Google Docs will help you organize the files appropriately.

How to Create a Folder in Google Docs

1. Log in to your Google account then go to docs.google.com

2. Double click on the home page to open one of the documents.

3. Tap on the folder icon which is next to your document’s title at the top of the screen. You might see the Google Drive icon instead, so click on it. A popup menu will appear showing you where the file is located at the moment.

4. Next, click on the folder icon with a plus sign from the displayed menu.

5. You will be prompted to name the folder. Then confirm the name by pressing the checkmark on it.

6. Now your folder has been created. Up next you need to add documents to the created folder. To add documents to that folder, click the blue “Move here” button. The window will close and you will see the notification on top of the document “that the file has been moved from the old folder to a new one.”

Note: All folders and documents created in Google Docs are automatically saved on Google drive.

How to Find a Folder in Google Docs

1. Open Google docs.

2. Tap on the Google Docs icon at the far right on the opened Google docs document. That will return you to the Google Docs home page.

3. Tap on the Folder icon at the far right just below the template gallery.

4. On your Drive browser, select the My Drive section. All the available files will be stored there.

5. Click on the particular folder to open.
