AirPods are wireless Bluetooth earbuds designed by Apple. These earbuds are compatible with any device with Bluetooth 4.0 and above that including MacBooks, iPhones, android, and windows laptops. The AirPods connect easily with iPhones, but this isn’t more easily the same with Macbooks and other devices. In this case, we shall guide you on how to connect AirPods & AirPods to Macbook Laptop to the last dot.

For first-time AirPods users, you’ll need to first pair your AirPods to your mac, then from then, your AirPods will automatically connect to your laptop.

To connect your AirPods & AirPods Pro to MacBook Laptop, do the following:-

Turn on Bluetooth on MacBook

To do this, Head over to your Macbook laptop menu bar, at the top left corner, tap the apple icon on your Mac, and then select the “System Preferences” option.

Under System Preferences, select the “Bluetooth” option

Then go ahead and enable your Bluetooth connection as shown in the picture below.

Connecting AirPods to MacBook

Open your Airpod charging case while near your Mac.

Now open and press the physical button found at the back of the device’s case until the pod lights green.

Move back to your Bluetooth page, look for AirPods pro or AirPods, and tap the Connect button

Once the connection is successful, you can now take out the earbuds from the AirPods charging case and put them in your ears to confirm you can hear anything, play something.

You can constantly connect or disconnect your AirPods to your Macbook manually too, to do this, tap the Bluetooth icon in the top menu bar and select AirPods Pro. Tap Connect or Disconnect to connect or disconnect the AirPods pro with your MacBook laptop.

What to do if AirPods are connected but the sound is coming from Mac instead of Earbuds

This happens most times, when you connect AirPods to your Mac, sometimes the sound will come through the default sound output of the internal speaker. All you need to do is to change the output from internal speakers to AirPods Pro.

To do this, tap the apple icon in the top menu bar and select the “Systems Preferences” option.

Under systems Preferences, Select the “Sound” option.

Next, tap on the “Output” tab, select AirPod Pro as a device for sound output. This will automatically change the sound output to your AirPod earbuds.

Once you start using the AirPods often, they’ll start connecting to your Mac automatically, you don’t need to go through the above procedures to connect your AirPods to Macbook for them to work.
