Your Mac has plenty of photos and other images that you can use as desktop pictures to give your Mac a custom look. There is also a provision for you to use your own from the Picture folder. Method 1: Change Desktop Background Picture on Mac
Step 1: Click on the Apple menu (Apple logo) in the top left corner.
Step 2: Select System Preferences.
Step 3: On the System Preferences window, click on Desktop and Screen Saver.
Step 4: On the left pane, you will be prompted to select a folder. The displayed folders are Desktop pictures, solid colors, and a Pictures folder.
Step 5: For every folder that you select from the left panel, all the available pictures in that folder will appear on the right. Now click an image on the right to change your desktop picture. As you click on any picture, the background of the desktop will change. After making your choice, close the Desktop and Screen Saver window.

Method 2: Change Desktop Background Picture on Mac
Step 1: On your Mac Desktop, right-click on a clear space.
Step 2: From the popup menu, select “Change Desktop Background.”
Step 3: On the left pane, you will be prompted to select a folder. The displayed folders are Desktop pictures, solid colors, and Pictures folder.
Step 4: For every folder that you select from the left panel, all the available pictures in that folder will appear on the right. Now click an image on the right to change your desktop picture.
