Every time you download documents, images, and videos from the internet, the first go-to place to check the downloads is the “Download” folder. By default, Google Chrome downloads to the Downloads folder on your user account. However, if you prefer saving downloads to another folder, then you can change the Chrome download location. If you successfully alter the download default location, you will need to visit that particular folder to view your downloads. Here’s how you can change the Google Chrome download location on Windows, Mac, and Android OS.

Change Chrome Download Location on Windows

1. Start the Google Chrome browser on your computer.

2. Tap on the three-dot menu in the upper right corner.

3. Select the “Settings” option.

4. Click on “Advanced” from the left navigation panel.

5. Next, select “Downloads.”

6. Click on “Change” under the “Downloads location” then select a new folder in which all downloads will be saved. Alternatively, you can create a new folder for your downloads. After choosing a folder, tap on “Select Folder” and the download location will be changed immediately.

Change Chrome Download Location on Mac

1. On your, Mac click on the three-dot menu then select Settings from the pop-up list.

2. Under “Advanced” on the left panel, select “Downloads.”

3. Tap on “Change” and the Finder page will open.

4. Select a folder from exiting folders or create a special folder as the default download location.

Change Chrome Download Location on Androids

1. Launch Google Chrome on Android.

2. Tap on the three-dot menu at the top.

3. Select Downloads.

4. Tap on the Settings gear at the top.

5. Click on the Download location and select SD card.

If you do not have the SD card, you won’t be able to change the download location on your Android device.
