How to Remove Brave as Default Search Engine from the Brave Browser app
Some of you are used to specific search engines to the extent that you would like to have the same search engine regardless of the browser you are using at the moment. With brave, you can change your default search engine. How? Follow along:
a) Firstly, launch brave browser app on your device (Available on iOS and Android). In case you do not have it yet, you can install it on your device or PC.
b) Secondly, tap on the three vertical dots on the bottom right corner of the screen.
c) Thirdly, select Settings from the list that shows up.
d) Fourthly, look for the General category and in that you select Search engines
e) Then, select Standard tab. This is the default tab searches are made from. You will see Brave below it meaning it is currently your default search engine. In case you also want to change your search engine for the Private Tab, you will do the same.
f) In the Standard tab, you will see Brave first with its radio button showing it is selected. The other search engines you can change to as you are seeing are:
- DuckDuckGo
- Qwant
- Bing
- Startpage
- Ecosia
g) Next, select your preferred search engine and return to the browser’s home page and search for something. The results from that search will be from the newly selected search engine.
