MTN XtraTime service allows MTN Customers borrow airtime loans once at a time. If you wish to use your airtime, borrowing to purchase data bundles or voice bundles, MTN XtraTime gives you a chance to borrow the bundle you would like to access directly. So you do not have to borrow airtime first.

To borrow airtime on MTN XtraTime, follow the steps below;

• Step 1: Dial *146#
• Step 2: Follow the on-screen prompts to borrow the amount of airtime you wish to access.

Here is the cost of borrowing airtime with MTN XtraTime;

• Customers who borrow Airtime will be charged only 10% of the credit value they borrow.
• Customers who borrow Bundles will be charged only 10% of the value of the bundle they borrow.

How to Borrow Airtime On Airtel (BEERAKO)

You can borrow up to 10,000, which is the highest amount of credit you can access by Airtel Beerako.

This also depends on your credit rating. It is not all the time that you can be offered a credit of UGX 10,000. Your use of the Airtel service must satisfy given conditions.

The other amounts of airtime you can borrow from Airtel are UGX 500, UGX 1000, UGX 2000, and UGX 5000.

With Beerako, which is Airtel’s borrow airtime credit service, you can now borrow airtime when you need it, and payback when next you load airtime on your phone. To borrow airtime on Airtel,

• Step 1: Dial *155#
• Step 2: follow the prompts to access the credit loan amount you wish to borrow.

NOTE; The airtime loan amounts you are eligible to borrow will always be shown on your phone or tablet screen when you dial the code for borrowing airtime credit, so you cannot borrow more than the Beerako service expects you to access.

Requirements For Accessing An Airtel Airtime Loan

• A customer must have a fully registered Airtel SIM card
• A customer must have at least loaded airtime of UGX 800 in the last 30 days
• An airtime loan can only be given to a customer who has fully paid back their previous airtime credit balances
• Customers must have a SIM card that has been active over the last 90 days or more.

How to Borrow Airtime on Africell (WETAASE)

Africell works with an airtime credit service called Wetaase.
To access an airtime credit with Wetaase;

• Step 1: Dial *161#
• Step 2: Follow the prompts as you pick on the amount of airtime you wish to access as listed for you by the service.

Requirements For Borrowing Airtime From Africell

• One must be a customer of Africell owing a registered and active Africell SIM card.
• Active prepaid customers must have loaded airtime of at least UGX 5,000 in the last month.
• The customer’s SIM card must have been active for the last 90 days or more
• Customers must have cleared their past airtime loans fully before they can access a new loan with Wetaase.

NOTE; to check your credit limit, you must first ensure that you are registered to the service, then dial *161# and select option 3 to see the available balance.

Available balance is the credit limit. The credit limit is also shown on the Airtime balance when you dial USSD short code *131#, but only if the customer is registered for the service (Weetase).
