The Nigeria Railway Cooperation – NRC has developed its e-ticket platform and will begin providing tickets to passengers online, particularly those purchasing the Abuja-Kaduna train route, in accordance with global best practices. The e-ticketing system is a Public-Private Partnership of around 900 million Naira that SecureID will manage for 10 years. The goal is to recoup its investment before handing over control to the Nigerian Railway Corporation.

How to Book Train Tickets Online Nigeria – Via the Web
There is no need to stand in line at the railway station to purchase tickets. Because anyone may now easily purchase a ticket online.
Train tickets may be purchased via the NRC website or the mobile app.
To purchase a rail ticket online, follow these steps:
- Go to www.nrc.tps.ng to purchase NRC e-tickets.
- Select your destination and travel date
- Click “Find my train” and select an available train, time, and seat number.
- Use your ATM card to pay.
Now login with your Username and password (if you are a new user, you will need to sign up)
How to Book Train Tickets online Nigeria – via Mobile App
Passengers can also use the mobile App for the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) for booking, checking train schedules, online payments, seat reservations, live train routes, and checking the nearest train stations. The app is available on the play store and can be downloaded here.
What you should know about booking a rail ticket in Nigeria online
- A database of all passengers boarding the train will be captured in case of emergencies and for other purposes.
- An e-ticket is stored in the train’s reservation system.
- For the time being, only two (2) tickets per train can be purchased with a single account.
- All passengers are expected to check in with a government-issued photo ID to receive their boarding pass.
- There is no refund policy if payment is made online.
