Instead of checking your bookmarks or your browser history for a website that you frequently visit, you can choose to add a shortcut for that particular website to the home screen of your iPhone. The website icon will be added to your Home screen so you can quickly access the website any time you want by tapping on the icon.
This procedure will serve you well especially if you don’t want to download the app on your phone but would still want to use its services. Here is how you can add a website to your iPhone screen.
Add Website Shortcut to Your iPhone Home Screen
1. On your iPhone, launch the Safari browser.
2. In the search bar, enter the website details and click OK. Now click on the search result that you prefer.
3. Next, tap on the share icon found that the button of the page just next to the bookmark icon.
4. Click on “Add to Home Screen” for the website to be added to the home screen.
5. On the next page you can choose to rename the website to your preference or leave it with the default name.
6. After editing the name, click on “Add.” You will be redirected to the home screen immediately. The icon will be added to your Home screen so you can quickly access the website any time you want by tapping on the icon.
7. To remove the website from your home screen, tap and hold on to the website icon until the other icons twinkle then tap on the cancel icon (x) and select “Delete.”
Add Website to Home Screen via the Shortcuts App
- Open the Shortcuts app.
- To create a new shortcut tap on the plus (+) button.
- Tap on “Add Action.”
- Select “Web.”
- Scroll down and select “Open URLs.”
- Enter the URL in the text box and tap the Next button.
- Name the shortcut as prompted and tap on Done.
- Tap on the options button of the shortcut that you just created.
- Next, tap on “Add to the home screen.”
- Tap on “Add.”
