How to Add a Missing Location to Google Maps

Did you know Google allows you to add a missing place using their Google map platform? You got that right. Google is working fast to get all those hidden locations available on the internet. With this, navigation to those areas would be the easiest thing you will ever do. The advantage of this is that Google gives you the opportunity to add your business to a location such that it is easily discoverable over the internet. Your customers will simply have to type in your business name and find you wherever you are.

Adding missing location using Android device:

There are different ways of adding a missing location on Google maps using your Android device. Below are the different procedures to follow.

Using the Contribute option

• Open Google maps on your Android device
• Now, Navigate to Contribute tab at the bottom menu and select “Add Place.”

• Under Add Place, Fill in the required information such as the name, category, an address, update location on map etc.

• Finally, Click the Send button located at the top right corner of your device. You’ll receive a thank you message from google team and an email after your added missing place has been reviewed and confirmed.

Using “search for an address”

• Launch the Google map application on your Android device
• Now, go to the search field and try searching for an address of your choice

• Once Google map doesn’t find the specific address, look scroll up the bottom menu.

• There will be a link “Add a missing place.” Just tap on it and proceed to “Add Place“.

• Under Add Place, Fill in the required information such as the name, category, an address, update location on map etc.

• Finally, Click the Send button located at the top right corner of your device. You’ll receive a thank you message from google team and an email after your added missing place has been reviewed and confirmed.

Using the “Drop a pin” option

• To do this, assuming that your Google map application is already running,
• Now to drop a pin, you should long press on the map at the location of the place you want to add
• Once that is done, you should tap on the card for the pin at the bottom
• Lastly, tap Add a missing place.

Using a Computer to add a location on Google Maps

Similarly, this method also involves different options as we earlier discussed above.

Using the Menu option

• Open Google maps on your computer
• Now, just click the Menu and select
• Proceed to “Add a missing place.”

Using “search for an address”

• Open Google Maps.
• Search for an address you wish to add
• Now click on “Add a missing place.” to add the location

Add a place from the menu

• Open the Google Maps app
• Tap the Menu Add a missing place.

Search for an address

• Open the Google Maps app
• Search for an address.
• At the bottom, tap the address.
• Tap Add a missing place.

Drop a pin 

• Open the Google Maps app
• Drop a pin (long press on the map) at the location of the place you want to add
• At the bottom, tap on the card for the pin.
• Tap Add a missing place.
