There is no doubt that the “Find My iPhone” feature will help you track your lost iPhone. However, if you plan on selling your iPhone, resetting/restoring your iPhone, or taking in your phone for repair, then you should turn off the “Find My iPhone” feature. Once the feature is turned off from an iPhone, the device is removed from the list of devices associated with your account and prevents new owners/ untrusted users from being able to access information about you.
