Huawei is losing Android operating system updates. Huawei’s upcoming phones outside China will no longer get access to apps and services like Gmail and Google Play. Google also will no longer offer technical support to Huawei, Reuters reported.

Holders of current Huawei smartphones with Google apps, however, will continue to be able to use and download app updates provided by Google. A Google spokesperson said.

Here is a tweet from Android’s official twitter account to confirm this.

The future of Huawei as a company is under the stakes, now that Google a company with widely used online products globally is backing out on it.
