What is a PRN?
PRN stands for Payment Registration Number. A Payment Registration Number (PRN) is a unique auto-generated number used in processing payments. Therefore, each payment form is pre-populated with a unique payment reference number, or PRN, which is used to match the allocations on the payment form to the actual payment made.

How to Get PRN on URA web Portal
Step 1: Start your browser and navigate to the URA Web Portal
Step 2: Click on the eServices menu. You will be referred to a new page.
Step 3: Under Payments, tap on Payment Registration.
Step 4: Now go ahead and fill in all the required payment registration information.
- Under Tax Head, select NTR.
- Enter Tax Payers details, details of the NTR Type, and Identification details.
- Select the preferred payment method.
- Enter Captcha data then click on Register & accept. Do this when you are sure that all the entered information is correct since you will be prompted to re-enter them.
Step 5: You will be auto-redirected to a page containing your payment slip if everything is correct. Download it to view the details fully. After that, you can go ahead and print out the documents and then use PRN for payments.

How does the URA PRN Work?
Upon generating the PRN from the URA web portal, the Taxpayer will have to present the PRN with the amount to be paid. This will depend on the payment method that the taxpayer chooses during the PRN generation process. Once payment is posted, URA will be notified instantly and a confirmatory message will be sent to the taxpayer’s phone number.
