Do you need more space on your iPhone or your iPad? Your iPhone or your Ipad will send you warning messages about your storage being entirely full. Once you establish that your iPhone is full, there are a few things that you can do to free up space.

Free up Space From Recommendations on your iPhone or iPad

1. Start the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.

2. Under Settings, tap General.

3. Now select iPhone or iPad Storage.

4. Here you will be able to see how your Device storage is distributed amongst different apps and what is taking up the most space.

5. Depending on how your Storage is being used, you may see some recommendations for freeing up the space like reviewing large attachments in Messages or offloading unused apps. Tap on each recommendation to learn more. Some recommendations run automatically in the background like offloading unused apps. With this turned on, apps that you have not used in a while will be uninstalled from your device without removing your documents or data. If you re-install that app, your information will still be available.

Free up Space Manually on your iPhone or iPad

1. Start the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.

2. Under Settings, tap General.

3. Now select iPhone or iPad Storage.

4. Here you will be able to see how your Device storage is distributed amongst different apps and what is taking up the most space.

5. Now tap the app that is consuming lots of space on your iPhone or iPad. Then tap Review large Attachments. When you tap review large attachments, you will see the largest videos, photos, and documents. You will also be able to see how much space that different types of documents are taking up.

6. To delete attachments that you do not need to keep, go to the document type, for instance, Photos, and tap Edit in the upper right corner, then select what you would like to delete. Tap the trash icon and you are done!

7. To offload and delete apps manually, tap on the app and click on “Offload App.”
