MultiChoice Uganda has announced that it will increase the subscription fees for DStv and GOtv in Uganda. The changes will take effect on April 1st, according to separate statements released by DStv and GOtv on their official Twitter handles.
GOtv Lite subscribers will now pay shs15,000 per month, up from shs14,000, and GOtv Value subscribers will pay shs21,000, up from shs19,000. GOtv Plus customers will have to pay an extra shs2,000, bringing the total to shs31,000. GOtv Max subscribers will pay shs49,000, up from shs45,000, and GOtv Supa subscribers will pay shs65,000, up from shs58,000.

For DSTV, Xtra View or PVR customers will pay shs50,000, up from shs45,000, while Lumba package subscribers will now pay shs16,000, up from shs15,000, and Access bouquet customers will pay shs43,000, up from shs39,000. Family package subscribers will pay shs64,000, up from shs59,000, Compact customers will pay shs104,000, up from shs95,000, Compact Plus customers will pay shs160,000, up from shs150,000, and Premium customers will pay shs275,000.

MultiChoice has stated that the decision to increase the subscription fees was based on the economic outlook in Uganda.
This is the third time MultiChoice Uganda has increased subscription fees in two years, with previous increases in August 2021 and August 2022.
