1. Sign in

The first thing you need to do is log in to your Gmail account. The bulk deletion works only with the browser rather than the app.

2. Opt for the Category to Delete

Choose the email category you want to delete; it could be Primary or Social or Promotions Categories. It is better to delete one email category at a time.

3. Select Email Conversations to Delete

To select all the conversations tap on the small tick box, the first icon under the Search bar. Only 50 emails will be selected as confirmed in a notification that will pop up above the categories, you can tap on the link to select more than 50 conversations under a particular category.

4. Click the Delete Button.

Tap on the delete icon under the search bar (4th icon from the left) shaped like a dust bin. A notification will pop prompting you to confirm the deletion of the selected conversations. If you agree, go ahead and click the OK button. Deleting the conversations will commence immediately. If you want to revert this action, go to Trash.

5. Delete Trash

All the deleted conversations will be stored in the trash. Go to the Gmail menu bar, select More then choose the Trash option. Click on the small tick box to select, then tap on the DELETE FOREVER button.
