If you are subscribed to Roku, then you must have noticed that Roku makes it too easy to make purchases. As a result, if you want to keep your kids and other family members from going wild and making purchases without your permission, you will have to create a Roku PIN. However, if you are suspicious that someone found out your Roku PIN already, you will need to reset it instantly to limit any damage. Fortunately, Roku makes the process of creating and resetting your Roku PIN easy peasy and this article will share a detailed step-by-step guide on how to do so.
1. Open a web browser of your choice and navigate to Roku.com.
2. If you are not logged in already, click the sign-in button at the top right corner of the screen and enter your log-in details.
3. Click the profile icon (silhouette of a person) in the upper right corner of the screen.
4. Select the “My Account” option from the listed of displayed options on the dropdown menu.
5. Next, the Roku My Account page will open. Find the PIN Preference option and click “Update.”
6. Enter your new pin in both fields under the Create PIN section at the top of the screen.
7. The Choose your PIN preference screen will appear. By default, the selector will be filled in next to your current PIN requirement option. Which will either be “Always require a PIN to make purchases and to items from the channel Store, or Always Require PIN to make purchases.” Change the Pin requirement option if you wish to or additionally you can choose the third option which is “Not to Require a Pin for anything.” If you choose the third option, a pin will no longer be required and you won’t be able to create a PIN. Also, on the same page, you can go ahead to set Parental Controls for the Roku Channel.
8. Go ahead and tap “Save Changes” to save and confirm PIN settings. You will be referred to the Roku My Account screen where a message at the top of the screen notifying you that pin preference has been updated.
