Here is how to Correct your National ID Information Online in Uganda

This guide will show you how to correct your National ID information online in Uganda. If your Nation ID has errors you can correct them rather than using a false identity. These errors could be spelling mistakes, wrong date of birth, wrong signature, and wrong area of residence. However, since information correction requires you to get a new ID card, you will need to pay UGX 50,000.

Step 1: Application

1. Launch your preferred browser (Google, Chrome, Safari, Mozilla).

2. Visit the NIRA web portal https://www.nira.go.ug/home.

3. Tap on the SERVICES & FORMS option.

4. A dropdown menu with different options will appear. Select FORM 1 (Notification of Change/ Error in Information in the Register) under the Registration of Persons category.

5. The FORM 1 document will download. Fill in all the required information.

Step 2: Make Payment

1. Next, make payment of UGX 50,000. Visit the URA web portal, click on e-services then select the Payment Registration in the Payments section.

2. Correct your national ID information by filling in the required information on the page. Click Register details at the bottom of your page.

3. Select DT as the Payment Type and choose Other NTR.

4. Select NIRA in the Ministry section and Miscellaneous Payments as Department. Also, select Correction of Errors-New ID Required as the TAX HEAD option.

5. Finalize the required next steps and print your payment receipt and make the payment.

Step 3: Submit the RequiredDocuments

1. Compile the well-filled in and signed Form 1 document, required identification documents, and payment slip.

2. Submit all the above documents to NIRA offices.
