Today I mistakenly bought extra airtime from my MTN Mobile Money. I only intended to buy airtime for UGX 10,000 unfortunately I added more zeros which led to a 100,000 Airtime top-up. By the time I realized the mistake in my transaction, I had already confirmed with my MTN Mobile money pin, and my eyes were still glued on the “100,000 Airtime Top-up” message. I immediately panicked; I wanted to revert the airtime to my mobile money account. The biggest question is it possible to convert MTN airtime to mobile money? STEP 1
Contact a specialized MTN Customer care agent as soon as you realize that you want to convert airtime to mobile money.

STEP 2
Explain your grievance to the Customer care agent.
STEP 3
The customer care agent will help you to convert Airtime back to mobile money immediately.
NOTE:
- MTN will charge you UGX 5000 for reverting Airtime to mobile money.
- The reversal can only happen if you loaded airtime using mobile money using your mobile money account, not the MTN mobile money agent.
- Airtime reversal can only be sent to the sending number within 24 hours.
