We all know how the National Identification Number (NIN) is important for SIM registration and somehow some people manage to use other people’s NINs without their permission. Check Sim Cards Registered Under Your NIN Using USSD

This is how you can check SIM cards registered under your NIN using shortcodes;

  • Launch the phone app on your device.
  • Dial *197# then OK.
  • Select Option 2, NIN Check.
  • Enter NIN or Passport ID.
  • A list of mobile numbers registered under your NIN will appear on the phone screen.
  • Review all the numbers and visit your preferred SIM card telecom outlet to disable certain numbers from using your NIN.

Check Numbers Registered Under Your NIN Using MTN MoMO App

The MTN MoMo app allows MTN subscribers to check linked numbers (numbers using the same NIN on the MTN network). This is how you can check numbers registered under your NIN using MTN MoMo app;

  • Launch the MTN MoMo app on your phone.
  • Enter the mobile money number, OTP and mobile money pin.
  • Click on the three parallel lines in the extreme top right corner of the menu on your screen.
  • Go ahead and select Linked Numbers.
  • All MTN numbers linked to your NIN will appear on the screen. Unfortunately no activity can be done on the numbers listed. If no numbers are linked to your particular mobile, then you will just get a thank you note.
