Step 1: Visit the Airtel store
Both the old owner and new owner should visit the nearest Airtel store in their area with a valid original copy of their National ID or passport to verify and establish ownership.
Step 2: Fill out the application form
Once you are at the Airtel center, match to the customer care desk then ask for the KYC form. The Airtel representative will give you two application forms to fill out. In the first form, you will need to enter all the details of the sim card including the owner’s name, phone number attached to the sim, last airtime recharge, mobile money balance and commonly dialed numbers. For the Transfer form, the new owner will have to fill in all their bio-data details, and National ID number.
Step 3: Submit the application form
After filling out both forms, please submit them to the Airtel representative along with the identity proof document of both the old and new Sim owners. The representative will verify the details and process the request. The details of the new owner including thumbprint and selfie will be taken on the spot. Once the sim ownership has been transferred, you will receive a confirmation message on the associated mobile number within 24 hours.
