Ever since Snapchat launched in 2011, the possibility of changing Snapchat username was futile. However, with the round-the-clock changes in consumer preferences, Snapchat has finally launched the change username feature. The feature was officially launched on February 23, 2022.
Previously, users had to create new accounts in case they needed to change their username. Now that it has changed, both Android and IOS users can choose to change their username as long as they have the latest version of the Snapchat app.
At the time of creating your Snapchat account, you are required to formulate a username and it is quite a hectic process since all the names you enter might be taken. What you Should Know Before your Change your Snapchat Username?
The Snapchat username can only be changed once a year. Therefore, think wisely before you hit the ‘change username confirm’ button.
Usernames that have been owned previously by any Snapchat user including yourself are prohibited as of now. This means that you need to create a unique never-used username. Remember you won’t be able to revert the change, so choose wisely!
Changing your username will not affect your Snapchat account including contacts, Snapcode, Snapscore, and Memories.

1. Start the Snapchat app on your device.
2. Tap on your Bitmoji (profile picture icon) in the upper left corner of the screen.
3. Now, tap on the Settings (gear icon) in the upper right corner of your screen.
4. Next, tap on the ‘Username‘ under the ‘My Account‘ section. The section will only open if your Snapchat app is up-to-date. If you have the old version, upgrade to the latest version from Google Play Store or the App Store.
5. Tap on “Change Username‘.
6. Enter your New Username then tap ‘Next’.
7. Key in your password to confirm your username change, then tap confirm.
Note: The display name is different from the username. The display name is how you can appear on Snapchat and the username is the identification used to access Snapchat. You can change the display name anytime you wish but you can only change the Snapchat username once a year.

1. Launch the Snapchat app on your device.
