Gone are the days when the only airtime top-up method was either by buying a scratch card or using mobile money. A number of methods have since evolved due to the development of fintech apps in Uganda. Telecom subscribers can now buy airtime straight from their bank accounts. For Centenary bank, in order to make mobile payments, you need to have registered for CenteMobile services. As of now, CenteMobile registration is only handled at the different bank branches with the help of the bank’s customer care personnel. After successful registration, you will then perform different financial transactions on your mobile phone including buying airtime. Here is how you can buy airtime and data from Centenary bank’s CenteMobile.
There are two ways to help you recharge airtime on your phone via CenteMobile; you can use the CenteMobile App or the CenteMobile USSD shortcode. If you are low on airtime and yet you have money in your bank account the methods listed below will guide you on how to top up airtime.
Use USSD Code to Buy Airtime & Data from CenteMobile
Here is how you can use the CenteMobile USSD shortcode to top up airtime. However, you will need to use the registered phone.
1. Dial *211# and press the call button.
2. Select option 1, Center Mobile then enter CenteMobile pin.
3. Select the Airtime/Data option from the drop-down menu.
4. Choose the Airtime or Data option.
5. If you choose Data, you will then be prompted to select the Telecom company you are buying data from. However, if you have selected Airtime, you be prompted to choose who you are buying airtime for (option 1: My Phone, Option 2: Other Phone).
6. For airtime purchase, you will be required to enter the phone number that you want to want to buy Airtime for. Next, enter the amount of airtime you want to buy. Select account then confirm the transaction with CenteMobile Pin.
7. For data purchase, immediately after selecting Telecom company (as reflected in steps 1,2,3,4,5) you be prompted to choose bundle validity (daily, weekly/monthly). Opt for the bundle plan you want, enter the recipient’s phone number, select account then confirm the transaction with a CenteMobile pin.

Buy Airtime/Data via the CenteMobile App
This method will require the customer to download and install the CenteMobile app on their device. The app is available on Play Store and App Store. Follow the steps below to recharge airtime.
1. Open the Cente Mobile App.
2. Select CenteMobile Login and enter the Login details.
3. Choose Airtime and Data from the menu.
4. Select either Airtime or Internet Bundles.
5. Opt for the provider you are buying Airtime or data for.
6. Select who you are by data or airtime for (you can buy for your Number, saved Beneficiary and Other Number.
7. Enter the phone number that you want to want to buy Airtime/data for.
8. Select account then go ahead and enter the amount of airtime that you want to buy.
9. Enter your pin to confirm the transaction.
10. Click the Pay button. A notification confirming transaction details will appear on the screen. If all details are correct, press OK to proceed. A confirmatory message will appear on the screen instantly.
