Fuliza is a product that Safaricom developed jointly with banks to allow M-Pesa customers to access overdrafts and complete transactions when they do not have enough money in their Mobile money wallet. Fuliza is paid directly from M-Pesa wallet as soon as the subscriber tops up. This means it is not easy for a subscriber to default on paying Fuliza as long as they use the same Safaricom to send or receive cash.
Initially, it was designed to pay for goods and services through Lipa Na M-Pesa, to top up in case they do not have enough money in their M-Pesa wallet. Ever since then, the services have been extended to feed the demand of consumers. You can buy airtime with Fuliza with the same ease as when you buy with M-Pesa. You can Fuliza airtime using Safaricom Fuliza services, the airtime purchase is done by using the M-Pesa menu or by dialing *334#.
Quick Note: Airtime Fuliza is only applicable to Safaricom customers who have had their Safaricom lines for a long period of time and different customers have different Fuliza limits.
How to Buy Airtime with Safaricom Fuliza
- Go to the M-Pesa Menu.
- Select the Paybill option.
- Enter 737373 or 220220 as the Business Number.
- For the Account, Enter your Phone Number.
- Enter the amount of Airtime your want to buy.
- Enter the Mpesa Pin and click send.
- A prompt appears for you to check the details of the transaction for a period of 25 seconds. This will continue until you cancel the transaction.
- Select option 1 to prompt Fuliza to pay the transaction
- A notification SMS will be sent showing the outstanding amount after transacting with Fuliza to buy airtime.
Wrap-Up: In case you are not registered for Fuliza, you need to be an M-PESA registered customer with an active Safaricom line, then Dial *234# and Select Fuliza. To check your Fuliza balance, Dial *234#, and Select Fuliza M-PESA to check your limit, balance, mini statement, and an opt-out option. Every time you transact using Fuliza, you will be notified of the outstanding Fuliza amount.
