PEWA Emergency Airtime service gives Telkom subscribers credit advances in form of airtime. The service is available for both prepaid and post-paid subscribers. After borrowing airtime, you are supposed to pay it back in 7 days through airtime top-up. Here is how you can borrow airtime on Telkom Kenya.

How to Know you are Eligible For PEWA Emergency Service
- Make sure you have been a Telkom Kenya active subscriber.
- Spent at least Ksh. 10 previous month.
- Must be low on airtime.

Borrow Airtime on Telkom Kenya.
- Launch phone app.
- Dial *133# and press the call button.
- Select airtime amount between PEWA 20, PEWA 50, PEWA 100.
- Note: The accessibility of a particular amount depends on airtime loaded previously.

Charges & Taxes
The subscriber will be charged an advance fee of 10% on each request. This means that you will receive the requested Credit Advance of less than 10%. E.g. subscriber PEWA 50 and will receive KSH 45 credited to your main account. 10% is immediately deducted (KSH 5). Subscriber will now top up and only pay KSh 50.
Check PEWA Balance.
- Open phone app.
- Dial *131# and press OK.
- Your PEWA balance will appear on the screen.
- Alternatively, you can go to Message app, type 131 and send to 131.
