Previously, ugtechmag showed you how to apply for a new debit card. However, in this article, you will learn how to block and replace your SC ATM/debit card. There are a number of reasons you would be prompted to block your ATM/debit card and they all-round on safety reasons to ensure that your funds are not stolen. Here is how you can block and replace your Standard Chartered ATM/Debit card online.

How to Block & Replace your Standard Chartered ATM/Debit Card Online

Follow the steps below to block and replace SC ATm/ Debit card online;

1. Do you have the SC mobile app? If the answer is yes proceed to the next step and if the answer is ‘NO’ download and install the SC Mobile App from Google Play Store for Androids and App Store for IOS.

2. After successful download, launch the SC Mobile App on your device.

3. Click the Login button then log in to your SC Mobile app with your username and password.

4. Tap on the main menu bar icon (three parallel lines).

5. Select Service Requests from the list of displayed options.

6. Opt for Card Management under the Service request icon. 

Block & Replace Your ATM/Debit card – Standard Chartered Uganda

7. Tap on ‘Block & Replace Debit Card’ to proceed to the next step.

8. Select from the drop-down the reason why you need to block your ATM/Debit card.

9. Choose the Debit card you would like to Block and proceed. 

10. Confirm your details and then proceed to the next page. 

11. Enter the One Time Password (OTP) sent to your mobile number and Submit.

12. Your ATM/Debit card will be blocked immediately, and your new card request submitted for processing.

How to Temporarily Block your Standard Chartered ATM Cards/Debit cards Online in Uganda

1. Log in to your SC Mobile app.

2. On the home page click on ‘My Digital Debit Card(s).

3. Enter the One Time Password (OTP) sent to your mobile number.

4. Select  “Temporary Block” to proceed. Your debit card will be blocked immediately.

5. To “Unblock the card” follow the same steps and click on “Temporary Unblock”
