A Complete list of best Fitness tracker with heart rate Monitor

Fitbit Charge 2– best selling fitness tracker

Fitbit Charge 2 Review
Credit Image : Amazon

It’s rare to talk about the best fitness trackers with heart rate monitor and you don’t mention Fitbit Charge 2. Fitbit fitness trackers are always straight to the point and on top very affordable

Fitbit Charge 2 can do a lot of tasks that other activity trackers can do but with much comfort. The fitness tracker records your daily step count, stairs climbed, calories burned, distance traveled, heart rate, and sleep patterns.

You can also receive notifications from your smartphone, like incoming phone calls, calendar alerts, and others.

Fitbit Charge 2 Design

Fitbit charge 2 has got a bigger display than Charge HR . In fact 4 times bigger to be exact. The fitness tracker has got an OLED tap-sensitive display.

The Charge 2 looks like a fitness tracker, but not a bracelet or anything suggestive of a “fashion” wearable.

The beauty about its design is it enables a multi-sport mode: tap on the display once for running, tap on it again for biking, and so on.

Fitbit Charge 2 Battery

The Fitbit Charge 2 will last nearly a week on a single battery charge. This may not be as impressive as Garmin Vivofit which lasts at least a month, but it’s a lot better than the one-day battery life of many fitness trackers.

Fitbit Charge 2 Functions Provided

The Fitbit Charge 2 does what many other activity trackers do. It records your daily step count, calories burned, stairs climbed, distance traveled, heart rate (has heart rate monitor), and sleep patterns.

Charge 2 can show notifications from your smartphones like incoming phone calls and calendar alerts.

The Charge 2 also has got dedicated functions for recording workouts such as running, walking, hiking biking, and elliptical workouts.

However, what I didn’t understand about this fitness tracker was its calculation of distance, a 1-mile charge was recorded as 0.7 miles on charge 2.

Nevertheless, all the other features are straight to the point which can cover up on the above con.

Remember if you’re very much interested in a fitness tracker with heart rate monitor but good distance calculation, I would recommend you check out those below.

Final Verdict

If you’re after a good fitness tracker with heart rate monitor, there is no good reason not to buy this wearable device.

However, if you don’t prefer one with a heart rate monitor, I would recommend you go with Fitbit Alta. But if a heart rate tracker and multi-sporting tracking are features you want, the charge 2 could be the best option.

GOOD STUFF
  •  has a bigger display
  • Multi-sport mode
  • Intuitive app
  • long battery life duration
BAD STUFF
  • Inaccurate distance tracking
  • No pause function
  • Not waterproof

LetsFit Fitness tracker HR – very affordable

LetsFit fitness tracker review
Credit Image : Amazzon

Next on our list is LetsFit fitness tracker HR, the fitness tracker has got a variety of useful functions. The tracker is one of my favorite affordable fitness trackers on this list.

When I first unboxed this fitness tracker, I was moved by the fact that the device didn’t have enough items in the box. Unlike the other fitness trackers that have the micro USB cables or other types of USB cables needed to plug into a power source in order to charge.

LetsFit fitness tracker HR bypasses all that, the device connects directly into the power source. The box comes with a tracker, manual guide and band only.

LetsFit Design.

The tracker comes with an OLED bright screen, the screen was bright compared to other fitness trackers I tested.

The activity tracker also has a band with a nice silky texture on the inside part that touches the skin. The outside band has got a nice texture to it as well.

The best thing I liked about the band, is the little piece that fits into the notches. This secures the loose end of the band so that it isn’t flopping around all the time.

LetsFit Battery.

According to the manual that comes with this fitness tracker, a user is recommended to charge the tracker for close to 2 hours until it’s full.

LetsFit fitness tracker has got an average battery lifespan though this can be offset by the quick battery charge duration.

LetsFit Functions.

I don’t always like something too complicated or with a lot of features. If you’re new to fitness trackers or looking for something to keep motivated, or just to have, because everyone at your workplace does, then this is the one.

The fitness tracker is simple and smart.T he Activity tracker can track a total number of steps made by the user as well as keep track of heart rate. It’s this we decided to add it on our list of best fitness trackers with heart rate monitor.

You can also set the device to track activities like running, press ups, jogging and also receive alerts from text messages, email notifications, social media, and others.

Final Verdict

If you’re looking for something too basic but with the best fitness tracking features such as heart rate monitor then you should consider this your favorite option.

The wearable device is very affordable on Amazon. However, you should note that the activity tracker lacks a big percentage of dedicated fitness features.

Good Stuff

  • Waterproof
  • Charges Quickly
  • the strap is comfortable and sturdy
  • Accurate step count
  • Very Affordable

Bad Stuff

  • Battery life is short compared to other trackers

Huawei band 2 pro – A slim, capable tracker with good battery life

Huawei Band 2 pro review

A Brand like Huawei can’t fail to have there very own as part of this complete list of best fitness trackers with heart rate monitor.

When you talk about brands like Huawei, Samsung, and apple you can’t fail to imagine about the quality of the product.

This Huawei band 2 pro is worth every single penny of yours. You will hardly believe when I say at just $80 you get every premium feature you can imagine in a fitness tracker.

The fitness tracker was designed to give the likes of Garmin & Fitbit the run of their money since the quality and features of these activity trackers was embedded in the tracker and expense lowered by almost 20%.

Band 2 Pro Design

When you look at Huawei band 2 pro from a distance, you’ll be forgiven to think the activity tracker is Fitbit Alta HR.

The black unit features small, slightly curved, rectangular PMOLED screen and a black rubber strap. The only obvious design flourishes are two silver strips lining the display’s long sides.

The final look is a discrete-nice looking wearable device which can easily be worn both inside and outside of the gym without too much embarrassment.

The only loose thing about its design is the slightly atypical strap. The activity tracker’s strap maybe favorable for running but I found it could come loose while swimming.

Band 2 Pro Battery

Huawei quotes a band 2 pro giving its users a 21-day max battery life. Which I believe is okay for fitness tracker of such as price.

However, the Band 2 pro stellar battery life helps further alleviate the inaccuracy of its more advanced features.

Huawei Band 2 Pro Functions.

Being fair to Huawei, this fitness tracker has got a lot of advanced features some of which are inaccurate.

However, we can’t easily expect much from an activity tracker of such a price. The tracker will help monitor your heart rate, track activities like running, hiking and count daily steps.

Besides that, you can also receive notifications such as social media, SMS messages and calls straight to your wrist while jogging or even moving.

Final Verdict.

If you’re looking for an affordable best fitness tracker with heart rate monitor then the Huawei Band 2 pro is a solid Option.

The fitness tracker has got a nice looking design and promising battery life. The Band 2 Pro will easily meet the needs of most new runners, swimmers, and cyclists.

Good Stuff

  • Good battery life
  • Sturdy design
  • Affordable

Bad Stuff

  • Huawei Software isn’t great
  • Most Advanced features are inaccurate

Fitbit Flex 2 – water-resistant tracker

fitbit flex 2 review

Fitbit trackers are one of the best fitness trackers on the web. As such it’s no doubt that the flex 2 can also make it on this list.

Flex 2 is a worthy successor to the original Flex. It is the lightest, thinnest, most flexible Fitbit wristband, and Flex 2 doesn’t look clunky next to your analog watch or smartwatch.

In fact, the fitness tracker is a common look if you frequently swim for exercises and others. So this what we know about Fitbit flex 2.

Fitbit Flex 2 Design.

Flex 2 is a skinny, light, water-resistant fitness tracker, small enough that you can wear it alongside a watch without looking like you’re wearing two timepieces.

Its band strap is about a centimeter wide, and the width is more-or-less the same across the whole activity tracker. As Fitbit says, it’s about 30% smaller than the last Fitbit Flex.

The tracker comes with a wide range of colors and straps. The texture of the band is the same as before though its brain is a little nugget of plastic that fits into the rubber strap, and can be popped out to charge.

Fitbit Flex 2 Battery

Flex battery life can go for approximately 5 days depending on how you use it. However, depending on our tests, this didn’t even exceed the normal 3 days.

When I disabled the swim workout detection feature (drains a lot of battery), the battery life improved from 3 to 4 days but still didn’t exceed the normal 5 days.

Functions

When it comes to functionality, flex 2 will help keep track of your sleep and other activities such as running, jogging, swimming, hiking and daily step counts.

You can as well keep track of your heart rate using its inbuilt heart rate monitor feature. However, some of these functionalities are not very accurate as such you should take note while purchasing one for yourself.

Final Verdict

Fitbit Flex 2 isn’t designed for use by hardcore athletes, except perhaps swimmers. And based on my tests, I recommend that people who really want to improve their overall health, purchase trackers that have screens.

If you’re a dedicated swimmer, a fashionista, or someone who’s casually interested in tracking activities and monitoring sleep, and you don’t want to spend more than $100, Flex 2 is worth a shot— assuming you’re OK with the above caveats.

Good Stuff

  • Flex 2 is very thin and light
  • Flex 2 is water resistant
  • You can wear flex 2 in different ways

Bad Stuff

  • Battery life isn’t that good
  • Doesn’t have a screen
  • possible problems tracking exercise

Garmin Vivofit 4a year-long battery with a screen

Garmin vivofit 4 review

Are you looking for a perfect fitness tracker with heart rate monitor? Garmin thinks the Vivofit 4 will work just fine for you.

In the space where there is a lot of competition from the likes of Fitbit Alta HR and countless other fitness trackers that want to guide you to the best fitness monitoring, Vivofit 4 is another wearable worth a mention.

Despite the Vivofit having a colored screen, Garmin says the battery of fitness tracker is yet another regular watch battery that can last a year.

That means you don’t have to be worried about charging your fitness tracker late at night before you can hit the road for jogging or gym the next day.

Gamin Vivofit 4 Design

The Vivofit 4 looks thinner than previous Garmin products, meaning it takes up less room on your wrist and is a touch lighter too.

For that reason, it’s a comfortable wear. We found the plastic strap material – the only option you have with the Vivofit 4 – was easy to clean off after a sweaty run.

The tracker provides a relatively secure strap that means it’s not going to fly about your wrist. Vivofit has both a smaller and larger size which are still comfortable on your wrist.

The Vivofit 4 is also attractive for a fitness tracker and its smaller size means it’s better looking than some larger, bulky wrist wear.

Lastly, the Vivofit 4 has got an 11mm x 11mm display, so this is even smaller than the display you get on the Fitbit Charge 2. Its interface is designed to show you time though it’s not like a proper running watch which can show live stats.

Garmin Vivofit 4 Battery

The Vivofit 4 has got a battery similar to regular watch battery that can last over a one-year duration. You don’t need to worry about recharging your fitness tracker every day and night only to wake up you have no battery.

Function

When it comes to the functions, we are quick to mention that the Vivofit 4 lacks phone notification perhaps which explains the incredible battery lifespan.

However, we can’t expect much from a fitness tracker of such a price other than the regular monitoring heart rate, sleep, daily step counts, and other activities.

Final Verdict.

Overall the fitness tracker is affordable, has an incredible battery life which can last for a year but still comes with a colored screen.

If you’re looking for a basic fitness tracker it’s likely this will make your day. Generally, it’s a good device though missing some features that you would love to see on your wrist.

Good Stuff

  • Very Affordable
  • Incredible battery life
  • Color screen

Bad Stuff

  • Lacks phone notification
  • Kind of difficult interface

Xiaomi Mi Band 3a cheap fitness tracker

Xiaomi Mi band 3

It’s slightly easier to find the best fitness tracker with heart rate monitor options, but you’ll struggle to find one which is cheaper than Xiaomi Mi Band 3.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 lacks out on core features other fitness trackers on this list posses but it’s still worth a very penny of yours.

There is a lot you need to know about this activity tracker as we shall see in the following sections below.

It’s important to understand that Xiaomi is one of those brand companies that has proven to be consistent and manufactures some of the best quality gadgets and wearable.

This company featured a couple of smartphones on our list of top best smartphones under $300.

Xiaomi Mi Band 3 Design

Xiaomi Mi Band 3 is not one of the most nice-looking devices but not ugly either way. The wearable is notably very light on your wrist which means you can hardly notice you’re wearing it.

The dimensions of the fitness tracker are 17.9 x 46.9 x 12mm which won’t make you feel like you’re wearing a smartwatch – it’s a lot smaller.

The 0.78 inch OLED screen is a lot bigger than previous Xiaomi Mi Band 2 version. The screen is, in fact, touchscreen so you can scroll through the menus though we found that feature quite temperamental.

The touchscreen issue may not seem the very easiest thing to do with the fitness tracker, but with time I got used on how to scroll through the menus and the rest was history.

The other thing about the display, there is a touch key at the bottom of the screen which you can hold down to activate other features or press to go back.

One major issue we found out about xiaomi Mi Band 3 was it’s difficult to read in direct sunlight. That means you may find it difficult to see your information if you need it quickly when the weather is sunny.

Xiaomi Mi Band 3 Battery

The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 is powered by a 110mAh battery. In fact, Xiaomi the manufacturers claim that the battery can last for 21 days which we came to believe after we had used the fitness tracker for 2 weeks and still hard 72% during testing.

I think it’s a great job to have Xiaomi battery last for such long as charging this fitness tracker isn’t the easiest thing to do especially when you have to pop the tracker out of its band and slot it into a proprietary charger.

This won’t work with your average micro USB or USB-C cable.

Functions

You can take with you the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 for swimming or shower since waterproof to 50 meters which is a good feature you won’t find in most fitness trackers that cost a great deal.

The fitness tracker seemed to have an accurate step count to all other trackers we tested on this list. You can hardly find a wristband tracker that monitors your daily steps as accurate as this one according to my testings.

On the rear of this band 3 is heart rate sensor that sits directly on your skin. You can only use this features once you turn it on and it will get to track your heart rate monitor.

We found the heart rate monitor results quit accurate more especially when sat down which was quite impressive compared to other fitness trackers.

The Mi Band 3 has a Bluetooth 4.2 technology which connects well with android versions 4.4 and above, or iPhones running iOS 9.0 and above, once you’ve downloaded the Mi-Fit app to your phone.

There is a lot of good and band about this fitness tracker, you can check it out on Amazon and see what other buyers are saying.

Final Verdict

There are a number of downsides with this fitness tracker such as heart rate tracker and distance track which don’t make this a viable alternative to a good GPS-toting running watch.

However, if you’re looking for a basic but yet affordable fitness tracker under $100 with step count and sleep tracking then you should be looking to get the Xiaomi Mi Band 3.

Good Stuff

  • Very affordable
  • Heart rate monitor
  • Waterproof
  • light and slim design

Bad Stuff

  • No GPS
  • Poor screen visibility in daylight
  • Temperamental heart rate tracker

Fitbit Alta HR slick with heart rate monitor

fitbit alta hr review

Another amazing piece from Fitbit is the Alta HR, am sure you must have read it at least somewhere within this list of best fitness trackers with heart rate monitors but you hadn’t taken note.

This may not be one of the very affordable fitness trackers on the list but is worth every penny of yours if you’re interested in a real activity tracker.

The Alta HR has taken its skills beyond the basics from fitness tracking into the realms of more in-depth fitness monitoring and improving. It’s an addition that boosts the device’s abilities, but one that certainly comes at a cost.

Fitbit Alta HR Design

When it comes to design and looks, the Alta HR is a classic activity tracker.

Tracker has a small stainless steel sensor pod strapped to your wrist with a robust and sweat-resistant rubber strap. It’s not exactly thinking outside the box, but when the box can look this good, who cares.

The fitness tracker has got a sleek but stylish design that shows the world that you’re indeed keeping fit. As well as looking nice to the eye , the Alta HR is very comfortable.

The problem with Fitbit Alta Hr is it hardly works on a sunny day.T he tracker can quickly get overshadowed by sunlight, making it almost impossible to read without first shielding it.

This can be a very serious problem especially for those bound to live in a very sunny place.

Besides that , the Alta HR comes in a variety of color schemes with different body options to be paired with a number of straps from the box.

As such if you feel a little bored with your black strap, you can just unhook with and replaced with one of Fitbit’s many more colorful and stylish options.

Fitbit Alta HR Battery

When it comes to the battery, given the size and functionalities of this fitness tracker, the battery life can take you close to a week which is pretty decent for such a wearable.

However, if you have to charge the HR, you’ll need to pull out the proprietary charger, with this one clipping around the device.

What’s more annoying than this slightly fiddly cradle design, however, is how short the power cable is. You’ll have to charge your fitness tracker from the floor.

Besides all the rest of stuff about the Alta HR battery is just straight to the point.

Function

Although a lot of features and functions make it stand out of the crowd of best fitness trackers with heart rate monitor, the activity tracker includes a list of omitted dedicated workouts such as VO2 Max tracking, guided breathing, and Connected GPS abilities.

Besides that, you can get all live step counts, heart rate monitor, biking, jogging stats and others using this fitness tracker.

When synced with your phone – it plays nice with iOS, Android and Windows Phone – you can get call alerts, message notifications and calendar reminders pinged directly to your wrist

There is a lot this Alta HR Fitbit can do, you can check out from customers reviews on Amazon below.

Final Verdict

If you’re looking for some super serious activity wearable for tracking your daily fitness activities, I would recommend you get an Alta HR.

Not only is it accurate and easy to use, but it looks great too. Its battery life is solid and its customization options impressive

Good Stuff

  • Slim & comfortable design
  • On-point steps counting
  • Accurate heart rate monitor

Bad Stuff

  • Display difficult to read in bright light
  • Not the best dynamic sports tracker
  • the screen is slightly unresponsive

TomTom Touch cardio – affordable HR fitness trackers

TomTom Touch Cardio review

Brand names like Garmin & TomTom are very well known for the best sports fitness trackers with heart rate monitor and this is no exception at all.

There are a lot of smartwatches and trackers from these brands that come packed with almost each and every feature that you know and the budget is strained almost to its maximum.

However TomTom Touch cardio is much more friendlier than all the other fitness trackers under smartwatches from TomTom.

At just less than $ 89.99, you can get yourself such a TomTom Touch cardio from likes of Amazon or best buy. The activity tracker is however not as fun as our usual Fitbit for a day to day activities.

TomTom Touch Cardio Design

When it comes to designs, am always impressed by simple and nice looking wearable devices. TomTom Touch cardio has indeed got a similar makeup.

How big is this fitness tracker? You can tell for yourself by looking at sample image at the top. The tracker is compact with a lot of features which we believe some are less comfortable on the wrist.

The glossy part of the TomTom Touch Cardio’s front shows you the rough outline of the module part, and the rest is silicone strap.

The TomTom Touch Cardio is water resistant and as such, you can put it on in the showers, swimming pool and nothing will happen.

The screen of TomTom Touch Cardio is made up of OLED screen display. Most of the time the TomTom Touch Cardio feels comfortable to use, but don’t expect functions like those of smartphone.

Touch Cardio Battery

TomTom says the battery life of Touch Cardio will last for 5 days but during our testing, we didn’t see battery life exceed 3 days.

To charge the TomTom Touch Cardio you pop out the module from the strap and simply plug the cable into the micro USB port on one of the sides.

This can be a bit disturbing but easier when you get used. The tracker is compatible with newer versions of Android and iOS that is newer iOS 8 + and Android 4.3 +.

Function

The TomTom Touch Cardio could be quicker and more reactive but this is what we expect from all simple fitness trackers.

The fitness tracker doesn’t possess a GPS feature however it keeps track of all daily workouts over a period of time and records them over on the TomTom app.

The activity tracker keeps a record of your daily step counts, calories burnt, distance traveled, the number of minutes you’ve been active and how long you slept last night.

This covers almost each and everything you would love to see from a fitness tracker of such a price and doesn’t have an advanced sensor such as GPS and altimeter.

The wearable device has got a Heart Rate monitor responsible for analyzing the resting heart rate, and not too bad for tracking during activity either.

Final Verdict

In brief TomTom Touch Cardio, is a pretty decent fitness tracker with heart rate monitor, water resistance, reasonable price but the disappointing battery.

If you’re looking for something basic just for fitness tracking then I would recommend you get yourself this amazing wearable device.

Good Stuff

  • Affordable price
  • Smart looking OLED Screen
  • Simple to Operate

Bad Stuff

  • Battery is average
  • Slow interface
  • The software could be more fun

Huawei Fit – nice design & future set

Huawei Fit review

Huawei Fit is another nice looking and proper fitness tracker with heart rate monitor that can be worth every penny of yours. I mean the fitness tracker is a very simple, low profile and looks like a traditional timepiece.

The activity tracker even brings a few sought-after features a long the ride such as waterproofing, continuous heart rate monitoring, week-long battery life, and training plan, which helps to prep you for a marathon.

However, the Huawei Fit is not necessarily a heavenly sent fitness tracker. The wearable device has failed to distinguish itself as a competitive fitness tracker in its price bracket.

There are many missing features that other fitness trackers in similar brackets can provide for example responsive interface, the lack of media controls and native GPS.

Of course, there is still a lot you’ll still like in this fitness tracker that we shall see, however, the price may not be the best for such a fitness tracker.

Huawei Fit Design

When it comes to design, Huawei Fit is meant to be worn on a 24/7 hourly basis and as such it’s made comfortable to make this easier for you.

What’s better is that it doesn’t necessarily require being removed before going into the shower or the pool, as it’s waterproof up to five atmospheres of pressure.

To make it better, Huawei Fit is very favorable for swimmers as it has aquatic workout options.

Talking of the interface, the fitness tracker isn’t the very exception of touchscreen smartwatches if you have used any. In fact, you’ll be in a very better advantage here to understand the layout.

To select an option on the screen, either tap it or for certain options, swipe up or to the right to dig a little deeper.

Huawei Fit Battery

Huawei’s fitness tracker is an all-star in the battery field, lasting close to a week on a single charge. Given the Fit’s list of features, which includes a heart rate sensor, this is a fairly impressive feat.

In fact, if you don’t use it longer, the Fit’s tiny 80mAh battery can last a surprising 30 days on standby mode. When it does zero down, it takes about 40 minutes to fully charge the device.

Function

For such a simple device, a lot of the core features are still missing but this may not be the case if you’re looking for a basic fitness tracker.

The activity tracker can display in-depth stats on its monochrome screen which are reliable and easy to digest.

To mention more, the Fit can track your heart rate and your sleep patterns, too.  All of these metrics feed into Huawei Wear, a slick companion app that compiles the information for a more topical view of your health.

We loved the feature that allowed users to pause mid-workout so that they can resume later in the day. Many a times, wearables force you to start from scratch if you have to stop.

Though compared to its competitors, we wish that the Huawei Fit knew how exactly to automatically start tracking your activity.

Final Verdict

Finally Huawei Fit is an ideal solution for those who want a low profile wearable device that can track a healthy amount of activities such as walking and running to sleeping and swimming.

The wearable device further gets bonus points for blending in your wardrobe as a regular watch.

I have you have a far better desire for a heart rate monitor, waterproof and long lasting battery life, you could do worse with Huawei Fit. I would recommend you get Fit or Garmin.

  • Huawei Fit

Good Stuff

  • Heart rate and sleep tracking
  • Waterproof
  • Heart rate and sleep monitoring
  • Supports stop-and-go workouts

Bad Stuff

  • Has limited features compared to same price fitness trackers
  • Spotty value for the cost
  • The interface is prone to errors

Nokia Steel HR – A hybrid watch with heart

Nokia Steel HR review

This list wouldn’t have been complete without this fitness tracker.  The Nokia Steel HR may not be on the expensive bracket of fitness trackers but has a nice looking design and could be a favorite option if you don’t want a normal fitness tracker.

Most fitness trackers like Fitbit and Garmin have got a plastic, eye-catching strap that most people don’t really like. The Nokia Steel HR looks like a regular watch.

Fitness trackers aren’t inherently attractive looking wrist wear, with many looking strange on the end of your arm – but what would happen if we put all those tracking features into a watch?

And this is what a Nokia Steel HR is trying to push for combining a regular watch with fitness tracking features. The strange thing is, we’ve seen almost this exact same product before.

The Nokia Steel HR was originally referred to as Withings  Steel HR before Nokia took over the product and renamed it  Nokia Steel HR. If you’re looking forward to getting this wearable device below is what you should expect

Nokia Steel HR Design

When it comes to design, the Nokia Steel HR is one of the best watch-like fitness trackers we have so far seen on this list. The fitness tracker looks exactly like a regular watch but is in fact slightly slimmer than a model watch.

The fitness tracker looks attractive and has a premium design that devices like the previous Withings Steel HR didn’t possess.

The watch face is available in black or white on the 36mm version, while if you opt for the 40mm option you’ll only be able to buy it in black. However,  You also have the option of a rose gold version in 36mm, also with a white or black watch face.

To us this absolutely a perfect size, it’s slimmer than other Nokia devices which were presumably necessary to put a heart rate tracker inside the watch but still remains thinner than average watch.

When you compare Nokia Steel HR and other slim smartwatches on the market, you’ll realize that the smaller size and slimmer design makes this much more comfortable to wear

The strap choices of Nokia Steel HR are straight to point and feel durable on the wrist. You can use a silicone strap which won’t easily get dirty when you’re out and easier to clean in case you get it sweaty when out for work out.

Nokia Steel HR Battery

The wearable device can offer a far useful battery life as compared to most fitness trackers on the market. Nokia predicts the Steel HR will last you 25 days and we found it offered a similar amount of charge.

However this may depend on how frequently you use features like a heart rate monitor, but we found we could get just over a month of use out of a single charge.

Functions

The Nokia Steel HR won’t be able to do as much fitness tracking but will be able to count your daily step count and limited exercise routines.

What I liked about this fitness tracker, if you go out for running or workout the activity tracker will start automatically tracking steps.

I found the step tracking to be accurate and it gave me very similar results to what we’ve seen from other devices over similar distances.

Perhaps one of the big highlights of the Nokia Steel Hr is its Heart Rate monitor on the back of the device. The Heart Rate monitor sits on the back of your wrist and will supply you with an average count of your heart rate by taking on a half hourly basis.

The fitness tracker will continuously record and update the heart rate monitor on the APP alongside other information.

I would say for an average user this the heart rate monitor will work just fine to keep track of your heart rate but if you’re a professional athlete I would recommend a dedicated heart rate monitor.

With this fitness tracker, you won’t need an alarm to wake you up. The activity has got an alarm function that allows you to wake up slowly with gentle vibrations on your wrist.

This means you won’t need an alarm clock to wake up, but the vibrations may not be strong enough if you’re a heavy sleeper.

Final verdict

So here is what I think…

If you’re looking for a fitness tracker that will encourage you to go on the odd hike or walk around more, the Nokia Steel HR will be a great option for you.

The disguised design of the Nokia Steel HR is its potential highlight. You can wear this wearable device at a business meeting and no-one will be any wiser that it’s monitoring your heart rate and taking a note of your steps to the water cooler.

Good Stuff

  • Gorgeous design
  • Accurate heart rate monitor
  • Easy to use companion app

Bad Stuff

  • Expensive for a fitness tracker
  • Battery life is less competitive
  • Limited Fitness features

If you’re a buyer interested in a good fitness tracker, you should buy a smartwatch with inbuilt fitness sensors. You should also be aware that most of these premium fitness capabilities come at a cost.
Nevertheless, there is a list of features you have to consider before you can get a fitness tracker of your choice some of which have been mentioned below.

Array of sensors

Still, if you’re looking for a fitness tracker with heart rate monitor, you should purchase trackers with a variety of sensors.
I am talking about heart rate sensors for those looking for best fitness trackers with heart rate monitor and other similar sensors that can record vitals, or at least give you information that you can find useful.

Customization

You should make sure to check with your vendor if the fitness tracker you’re purchasing can easily be customized. Customization involves a lot of things such as changing the face of your fitness tracker, changing your straps and others.

Design

Most fitness trackers are wrist-worn or come with a clip to hook the tracker to your clothing.
The simplest devices are the ones you can wear all day without actually interacting with them. With few exceptions, most have only LEDs to indicate your progress.
You’ll have to check with your device app that it’s recording your fitness tracking information over a period of time.

WaterProof

If you’re someone interested in keeping on your fitness tracker whole day including in the shower and when you go for a swim, you may opt for a device that can handle more than a splash of water.

Features

Nearly every available fitness tracker on the market tracks daily step counts and estimated counts. If you want to know how many flights of stairs you climb each day, opt for a device that has an altimeter as well as the standard accelerometer.
Most fitness trackers send notifications from your smartphone straight to your wrist, letting you know in case of a call or text message.

Compatibility

Most fitness trackers are designed to sync with smartphones, but make sure the wearable device you’re considering to buy is compatible with your specific device.
Most Activity trackers sync with both iOS and Android,  but there are exceptions. For example, the Apple Watch works only with iPhones.

Fitness tracker Pricing

Most activity trackers range from $25 to about $300 depending on the functionalities. As such, if you’re looking for something basic just to simply track your steps and calories,  a less expensive device can get the job done.
But if you want a device for professional athletics or even advanced features such as advanced high end tracking and other functionalities then a medium range and expensive fitness tracker will be your choice.
