Requirements for Stanbic Bank Agent
Here are the relevant requirements to become a Stanbic bank agent in Uganda. Note that to become an agent, your business should be registered and licensed as either sole proprietor, limited company, or any category as specified by the central bank as fit for the agent banking business with a physical address.
1. Certificate of incorporation or registration
2. Memorandum and Articles of Association
3. Valid Trading license
4. Two photos of each outlet – inside where the banking will be done and an external photo of the outlet
5. Two reference letters from people or entities of good social standing (e.g. LC1, LC2, or business references)
6. Company profile or CV of the sole proprietor (physical address & business experience)
7. GPS location of the outlet.
8. Credit Reference Bureau report (UGX 20,000/=).
9. Six months’ bank statement for non-Stanbic Bank customers.
10. Been in business for at least 12 months.
11. Adequate and secure premises.
12. Interpol certificate of good conduct (UGX 64,000/=)
13. 2 passport photos of each of the directors.
14. Identity card preferably the National ID.
15. Point Of Sale machine (POS) UGX 1,000,000/=.
16. Agent Banking business capital UGX 5,000,000.

How to Become a Stanbic Bank Agent
1. Visit any Stanbic bank branch near you. Click here.
2. Go to the Customer Care desk or branch manager and share your Agent application request.
3. The bank official will then give you an agent application form to fill in and also guide you through the process.
4. Upon filling in your application and attaching the relevant documents as required. The agent application will be submitted for vetting and approval.
Who is Eligible to become Stanbic Bank Agent
A Stanbic bank agent can be any person with a registered business from a mobile money agent, petrol station, supermarket or grocery store, pharmacy, hardware store, or retail shop that has been in existence for at least 12 months. Please Note that Stanbic agent banking shouldn’t be your primary business. To become a Stanbic bank agent you should have a business bank account with Stanbic bank and a physical address for a place you want to set up your agent banking business.
