The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) migrated the application for Road Service License to the Transport Integrated Management System (TIMS). You need to create an account first to apply for Road Service License. This account is created on the Road Service License (RSL) portal.
Requirement for Applying for the License
- The motor vehicle must have passed the inspection
- The driver of the motor vehicle must have a valid PSV badge
- Have a Road Service License(RSL) account
How to Apply for Road Service License
1. Visit the NTSA RSL Portal.
2. If you don’t have an account, tap on Click Here to Register.
3. Key in your First Name and Id Number then click on the Search Button, and your other names will be displayed.
4. Enter your Mobile Number starting with +254.
5. The username is your mobile number and your ID Number is the Password.
6. Click on Create to complete the creation of your account.
7. Proceed to log in to the RSL Portal.
8. After logging in to the RSL Portal, the first step is to set your company pin. Click on the set pin option on the left-hand side then key in your company’s KRA pin and submit.
9. The next step is to attach the vehicle that you are applying a license for. Click on the ‘attach vehicle ‘option. Enter the vehicle registration number or chassis number and then click on the search button. If the vehicle is found, indicate its sitting capacity and click on ‘submit’.
10. Click on “My Vehicles” on the left-hand side.
11. A list of your vehicles will be displayed.
12. Choose the one you are applying for, then click on “Apply RSL” on it.
13. For all the areas, fill them with an asterisk (*).
14. Click next and proceed to make payments.
15. After your payment is successful, click on “Submit” to submit the form.
16. After submitting your application wait for approval.
Quick Note: After submitting your Road License application, keep on checking the progress. You will see the progress of your application on the right-hand side. Click on edit RSL to see the reason why the application was rejected in case it is rejected. Make requested amendments and submit. Once the RSL License is issued, print it online.
