Just after MTN Uganda offered to remove Mobile Money charges for all transactions below UGX 30,000, Airtel has taken it a notch higher.

Airtel Uganda has removed all transaction fees via Airtel Money during this 30 days COVID-19 break which the President of Uganda authorized.

“As part of the support, effective March, 20th 2020, all on-net person to person transactions will be free for 30 days for any number of transactions and value,” VG Somasekhar, Managing Director of Airtel Uganda said.

“Airtel Money Pay will be free for all customers and all merchants for 30 days.”, The MD Airtel Uganda continued.

This means that for the transaction made over Airtel Uganda, particularly for Airtel to Airtel transactions, they are FREE as you are reading this text. For Airtel to other networks, these transactions are not FREE.

This offer is valid until the 19th of April, the day when the 30 days will elapse.

This is meant to ensure cashless transactions and support the exchange of goods and services during the scourge of coronavirus.

You can make airtel transactions via the My Airtel App or dial *185# and follow the prompts.
