5. Identify the IDM extension from the search results and click on the “Get” button to install it.

Quick Note:

At times, you may find that the extension is already installed but inactive. To address this issue, launch Microsoft Edge and click on the three-dot menu icon located at the top right corner. From the menu, select “Extensions” to access the list of available extensions for Microsoft Edge. Locate “Internet Download Manager” in the list and simply click on the toggle switch to enable it. If you cannot find IDM in the list, consider updating either your IDM software or Microsoft Edge browser to resolve the issue.

After setting up this integration, you may want to make some adjustments to the IDM settings. To begin, open IDM and locate the Options button in the top toolbar. Click on it to access a window containing several tabs and options.

Within this window, you have the flexibility to customize various aspects, including the download location, supported file types, connection speed, proxy settings, and more. Additionally, you can control IDM’s integration with specific browsers by selecting or deselecting the relevant checkboxes under “Capture downloads from the following browsers.” This way, you can fine-tune IDM to suit your preferences and requirements.
How to Use IDM to Download Files, Photos & Videos?

Each time you browse a webpage containing downloadable files like videos, music, or documents, a Download panel will appear at the top right corner of the browser window. To initiate a download using IDM, simply click on the Download button within the panel. Alternatively, you can right-click on any link or file and choose the “Download with IDM” option from the context menu.
