This article guides you on how to activate the new Airtel sim card in Uganda. If you want to join the Airtel family, you will need to buy the airtel sim card then get it activated. Unfortunately, the sim card can only be activated after registration by authorized Airtel Uganda agents.

- Original National ID.
- Passport.
- Refuge card.
- Passport photo (will be taken at the Airtel Shop).
- UGX 2000.

Activate New Airtel Sim Card in Uganda
1. Visit any authorized Airtel shop near you.
2. Go to the available customer care agent.
3. Request for a new Simcard.
4. A registration form will be handed to you, fill it in correctly.
5. Then hand in your national ID to the teller to register your sim card.
6. You will have to pay UGX 2000 for the simcard.
7. The customer care agent will register your sim card and hand it to you.
8. In 20 minutes the card will be activated and you will be able to make calls, send messages and so much more.

How to Register for Airtel Money
- Dial *185#
- Select option 2, which is ‘request for activation code’
- Redial *185#
- Select option 2, which is ‘Activate Account’
- Enter Activation Code received
- Enter New PIN (4-digit figure), which is your preferred PIN or secret code.
- Re-enter that PIN to confirm.
How to Activate Deactivated Airtel Sim
The Airtel Sim card will be deactivated if it has been inactivate for 3 months. However, you can reclaim the number again.
- Try to request re-activation via email to [email protected] or customer care
- Visit nearest airtel store and submit reactivation request
- Provide Address and Photo Id proofs
- You may receive a confirmation call and then your number will be re-activated
