Did you know that you can switch a user’s account type between Standard and Administrator in Windows 11? This sets the user’s level of access to the device and its apps.

An “administrator” account gives you total access to the device and its programs. A user with an Admin account, for example, can use it to install and launch programs, operate with elevated rights, modify global system settings, and make other changes without first entering a password.

A “standard user” account limits users’ access while providing a more secure environment. Follow the instructions below to change the account type in Windows 11.
