Last year, Google pushed the Follow button to the stable build of Chrome for Android. This was introduced after it pulled the plug on Google Reader, eight years ago. The RSS (Really Simple Syndication) allows users to create a customized feed of the most up-to-date content and websites they are interested in. This feature is available in Chrome 94  and later versions. Here is how to turn on and off Chrome’s Web Feed on Android.

How to Turn on Chrome’s Web Feed on Android

Before you think about using the web feed feature, you need to first enable it on your Android phone. Here is how;

1. Open the Google Chrome app on your Android device.

2. Next, tap in the address bar and type chrome://flags

3. On the next page, type in Web Feed in the search box.

4. Select Enabled from the drop-down menu for Web Feed.

5. Once that is done, Chrome will request that you “relaunch” your browser to effect the changes. Tap the Relaunch button to relaunch the browser as instructed.

How to use Chrome’s Web Feed on Android

Now that we have the flag enabled, we can try out the feature. Here is what you need to do;

1. After enabling the Web Feed feature, go to the site that you would want to get a web feed from.

2. Tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner.

3. Scroll down to the bottom of the displayed menu, and hit the Follow button right next to the name of the website. To unfollow a particular website, follow the steps listed above and tap on the following button.

4. Every time you want to see the feeds, you will have to tap the home icon at the top-left corner of your Chrome browser then select the Following tab to view all the news feed from the sites you follow.

1. Open the Google Chrome app on your Android device.

2. Next, tap in the address bar and type chrome://flags

3. On the next page, type in Web Feed in the search box.

4. Select Disabled from the drop-down menu for Web Feed.
