With business growing at a very fast rate in Uganda, the first thing you need to know are swift codes for different banks and these can help you deposit money to an account in Uganda, when you are in Dubai or any other city around the world.
You may wonder, what is a swift code?
Swift codes are used to uniquely identify banks and financial institutions globally.
These codes are assigned by International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for each bank in the world.

A swift code comprises 8 or 11 digits. Here is how simple a swift code is formulated (Don’t try to formulate one, they are already formulated for you)
- First 4 characters – bank code (only letters)
- Next 2 characters – Alpha-2 country code (only letters)
- Next 2 characters – Location code (letters and digits)
- Last 3 characters – branch code. This is optional (letters and digits)
