Over time, your GBoard will master your writing style and patterns. In that debut, all unfamiliar words that you consequently use will be saved to the keyboard. Now, this comes with a fair part of your typing convenience and easy mark-out for predictive words. However, with time, you might incur spelling mistakes.

As the keyboard learns and saves new words, it also saves misspelled words. This is demotivating especially when you learn that you have sent a chat with a misspelled word. You might be intrigued about how to avoid such errors in the future or generally want to delete all Gboard learned words. Here is how;

Method 1:

1. On your Android phone or tablet, launch any app that you can type with for instance Messaging apps, Gmail, Keep.

2. Tap on the text box for the keyboard to display.

3. Up next, click on “Settings” the gear icon on the upper bar of the G-Board.

4. Scroll down and select “Advanced” from the list of options.

5. Under the “Advanced” menu, select “Deleted Learned Words and Data.” Unfortunately, you are unable to view GBoard learned words.

6. To clear all on-device data that Gboard has saved to improve your typing and voice typing experience, enter the number displayed on your screen and tap on “OK.”

7. The data will be cleared instantly. Now the status under “Delete Learned word and data” will show “cleared.”

Quick Note: All the learned words will be erased. This operation can not be undone.

Method 2:

1. Launch any app that you can type with for instance Messaging apps, Gmail, Keep, etc on your Android phone or tablet.

2. Next start the Keyboard by tapping on the text box.

3. Type the learned word that you want to delete. You will see the word under suggestion even after you have just typed a few letters.

4. Long press on the word in the text suggestion bar. 

5. Now tap on “Remove suggestion.”

6. Drag the word into the trash can and you will have deleted the learned word.
