New Equity bank customers can now open an Equity bank account on their mobile phone following the easiest steps ever. All they have to do is dial *247# and follow the prompts. Here is how you can open an Equity bank account online in Uganda.

How to Open up Equity Bank Account Online in Uganda
Step 1: Self-account registration
1. Dial *247# and press the call button.
2. To start the account opening procedure you need to enter National Identificational Number.
3. Next, you will be prompted to enter your Card Number.
4. Enter your Given name as it appears on the National Identity Card.
5. Type in your Surname.
6. Select option 1 if you accept the Equity privacy policy, terms and conditions.
7. Your account number and mobile banking pin will be sent via SMS.
8. You can now go ahead and make your first deposit on your account. Dial *247# and follow the prompts.
Step 2: Verifying Account Details
After you have successfully opened an account with Equity bank using the USSD short code (*247#), you will need to verify your account details. Remember the traditional way would definitely require you to attach a photocopy of your identity, passport size photo, or selfie, receive an ATM/Visa card, confirm the signature, and account type.
To verify your account details you need the requirements below;
- Copy of your National identity card of both the front and back sides.
- A passport-size photo.
- Registered phone number.
- Equity account number.
The account holder should visit the nearest Equity bank branch in their area to verify the account details.
How to Deposit Money on your Account
- Deposit at any agent location.
- Through mobile banking by dialing *185# on Airtel or *165# on MTN, select financial services, Banks/Bank deposit, select Equity bank and follow the prompts.
- Deposit money from any Equity bank branch.
- Transfer money from other banks.
