Airtel Uganda offers free monthly data to all its customers. This free offer comes with manageable restrictions; the data is received once a month and the subscriber must have bought data worth UGX 2000 or more in that particular month. Ask and it shall be given to you, request this free data offer by following the prompts below.

- If you are eligible, you will receive a confirmation message with the top-up of the 20 MBs.

Option 2: Airtel Tugabane
Airtel Tugabane is a data-sharing service that enables Airtel users to share the same data bundle.
In case you need some free data, you can reach out to a buddy and ask them to add you to their Tugabane list of numbers. This way, you can enjoy free whenever they load data on their Airtel sim card.
Here is how to enjoy free data from your friend with Tugabane
- Simply dial, *175# on your phone
- Select Data sharing (Option 5)
- Choose Sub-option 1- TUGABANE
- Select Activate
- Enter the phone number(s) of the people you want to share your bundle with
Option 3: Promotional Data Offers
Promotional data offers come with a price, the customer must buy a certain product from Airtel Uganda to receive the data bonus. As much as this method might not seem extremely free, it is still an offer worth giving a try.
- Buy an Airtel 4G WIFI router at UGX 280,000 and get 51GB free data valid for a month.
- Buy My First 4G Smartphone at UGX 200,000 and get 15GB of free data valid for a month.
- Buy Airtel 4G MI-FI at UGX 123,000 and get 15GB free data valid for a month.

Option 4: Airtel Data Me2u
In case you don’t have data on your Airtel line, you can ask a friend to send you some FREE data.
With the data ME2U, a friend can bail you out by sending you some of their MBs directly to your airtel line. Here are the steps to help bail out a friend with free data on Airtel Uganda.
- Dial *175#
- Select Data Share (Option 5)
- Choose Data Me2U (Option 2)
- Input their Airtel phone number
- Enter the amount of data you want to share
- Proceed to accept the transaction
Terms and conditions of sharing data on Airtel Uganda
- The charge for each Data Me2U is UGX 250.
- Volume to share should be between 50 MB AND 2000 MB
- The share amount shares same expiry date as the original account shared from.
- Data Me2U applies to monthly bundles i.e. 125 MB to monthly 3 GB only
- You can only share to the same number if it has already used up the first share.
