Once you lose your National ID, you may lose out on many opportunities. For example, some jobs require National IDs. Registering SIM Cards requires National IDs. And so on.

A confirmation of information letter is a lifesaver in the loss of your National ID card.
What is required is your National Identification Number (NIN). Follow these steps to get one:
a) Firstly, go to the NIRA website: nira.go.ug. Under key services, select Confirmation of information and enter your NIN.
b) Secondly, click generate PRN. You will see a 13 digit number.
Use the number to pay 1000 UGX to URA using Mobile Money.
After paying, enter the PRN where it is supposed to be entered.
c) Lastly, preview the letter. If you are happy with the letter, you can send it online or download and print it.
NOTE: You can only use one PRN per transaction. In the event that you choose to download, you will have to generate and pay another PRN for another transaction.
