How to Enable Find Your Tablet on your Amazon tablet
You can find your lost Amazon tablet using the Find Your Tablet feature. One important thing to note is before you lost your tablet, you should have enabled location tracking and Find Your Tablet features on that specific lost Amazon tablet.
To turn these settings on so that you can easily track your tablet in case of emergency in the future:
- Go to your phone’s settings. You can do this by tapping on the settings app icon in your apps list. Or by swiping down from the top of your screen and tapping on the gear-looking icon.
- Look for Device Options and select it.
- Tap on the button next to Find your tablet to activate it. You could also be prompted to enable Amazon to track your device. Allow it to do so.

Find your lost Amazon tablet:
To proceed with the find your tablet device options, you must have enabled the Find Your Tablet feature before and your tablet should be turned on with an active WiFi connection. Let’s get started;
Step 1: When you lose your tablet with the above settings enabled, you can easily locate where it is in real-time by first visiting the Amazon website here.
Step 2: Tap on the My Devices tab, and select your Amazon tablet.
Step 3: Activate the Devices Action menu and choose the device action you would like to use to locate your tablet. You are given four options: Remote Alarm, Find Your Tablet, Remote Factory Reset, and Remote Lock.
Quick Note: To use any of the device actions, your tablet must be turned on and connected to a wireless network. If a Fire tablet, is turned off or has no active Wireless Network, Amazon will keep trying to reach the device for three days.
Here is how you can use device actions;
Remote Factory Reset:
In the event that you believe your tablet is not going to be found, choose this option. What this option does is it clears all the information on your device. Photos, emails, videos, chat history, music, and others. By so doing, your device is the way you bought it. Empty with nothing but the default apps that usually come with a new phone. That is what a factory reset does to a phone once it is done.
Find Your Tablet:
Selecting this option will show you a location on the map where your device was last seen. Depending on the situation, you could find it still where it was. On the other hand, you could find it when it’s gone. Someone could switch it off and some devices rely on the internet to keep track of the location of the device.
Quick Note: The maps and location information used in Find Your Tablet may be inaccurate or unavailable depending on a number of factors. This feature should not be relied upon in situations where precise location is on demand. If your device has been stolen, please contact law enforcement.
Remote Lock
This will lock your device remotely and allow you to set up a note for whoever has it in possession. It will put a pin or passcode inside your device. In that way, anyone in possession of it will be prevented from accessing anything past the lock screen. This option is not so effective, given some devices can easily be flashed and all the encrypted passwords and PINs.
Remote Alarm:
This option lets an alarm ring for around 120 seconds (2 minutes). Use this option in case your tablet is lying around somewhere near you. The sound emitted is loud enough to gain attention wherever it may be.
